I went out to Open Mic Night at Wine Up on North Davidson in Charlotte on Tuesday night. I met a lot of great people. I recorded the whole thing and will put up a podcast to the site later this week.

Matthew Ross is currently working on finalizing the website, MyPodworks.com. The site will provide a central location for any type of media from Biography's, Headshots, and Video to Audio samples, promos, advertisements for current and past theatrical productions to be posted to a users online portfolio. Users audio files can also be syncronized to their iPod to take on an interview or meet with a director.
I am posting this image so users can call me if they have any questions about the website. Click on thumbnail for larger image.
The only time I get to go home is when I'm working and this past week was no different. With my job at Magnum Companies in Atlanta we got hired by the designer Tony Brewer and Co. to provide the lighting, sound, power and production support for the reception party of the New Hermes Store in Charlotte.
I along with 3 of my freelance lighting technicians left on Monday and started installing in a 40x110 tent on Tuesday. Our job included highlighitng bars and food stations. Hanging 3 of Magnums 4' crystal chandeliers and illumination of the grounds and gardens.
The first day was fairly straight forward and painless. The next day we worked along side the decorators, performers and end client to finsih up the work. I ran 1500 feet of 4/0 feeder cable from a generator thru the gardens up to the tent. This supplied the power for all our lighting and heaters for the tent.
Eddy Pareja and I have been working on a side project. We created http://www.clipoftheday.com/ in order for people to find a funny clip everyday without searching. The site can post or refer to other clips on many other video websites. Please check it out. If you have a favorite clip or know where to find one please email us through the contact us email form.
Have a good weekend,
Matt
